The committee are pleased to announce that after sufficient interest from members both charters will take place over the weekend of 6th/7th.October.   We have gone for the ‘two locos’ option on the SKLR.

There are still spaces available & bookings will be kept open until  1st.September.  Both charters are open to non-NGRS members.  Please support this new initiative, charters on well-established ‘public’ lines.

If you need replacement booking forms please contact the Visits Officer by Email or Royal Mail.

Over the last few years, the Society has enjoyed considerable growth in our library collection and resources, and it continues to grow !!  This expansion meant that a printed Library list would be expensive to produce, and be difficult to keep up to date for members.  We have therefore trialled an on-line catalogue.  Following feedback from members, it was felt that an easier way to search was required, rather than the multi-tab spreadsheet format offered.

Members will find a simple LIBRARY SEARCH tool in the Library section of this website which will open in a new window. Alongside this, members will still be able to download a copy of the library list spreadsheet for their own use at home.

As always we welcome feedback from members, drop the librarian (Jim Hay) a line at howard9841931@hotmail.co.uk

Should any members require a printed list, or have any particular requirements please feel free to contact the Society librarian by email or by post.

The Society would like to establish a Midlands area group to replace the recently defunct Staffordshire area group, and David Jones has offered to co-ordinate efforts.  Anybody interested in helping and/or attend meetings is invited to contact David.

It would be useful to know which centres people might be able to attend (Stoke, Stafford, Uttoxeter, Burton, Derby and Lichfield are suggestions) and how much per meeting you would think it worth contributing to meet costs. It is possible that joint meetings with another Society could be a way forward – any suggestions would be appreciated. David can be contacted on email at:  davidandrosjones@hotmail.co.uk or at 22 Maple Close, Doveridge, Ashbourne DE6 5LU
